Dr. Swati Saxena is a social science researcher working in India. She is interested in expanding research on health, politics, society, culture and gender.

She has a PhD in Public Health and Policy from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Her thesis examined the introduction of new vaccines in developing countries through the lens of politics, science and public health policy. She also holds an MPhil in Development Studies from University of Oxford, where she researched on Polio Programme in India. Her research interests include vaccines and immunisation programmes, child health, health policy and global health.

Her writing on gender, popular culture, contemporary social issues, development, politics and policy and films and television have appeared in various English journals, magazines and newspapers like The Indian Express, Tehelka, DailyO, NewsD, The Wire and Policy Pulse.
